Summerland Tour at House of Blues, Boston 06.19.14

For whatever reason, I tend to get all the 90's nostalgia concerts. I was willing to trek to Boston for this show because it was at the House of Blues and I knew it had great light. I have a certain fondness for this venue; you might recall these photos from 2012. It's fun to see how far I've come since then. HOB has a photo pit, which makes me feel like I'm being spoiled. I shot with a couple other photographers and for the most part, we worked well with each other. It's so much nicer to be able to move around and get different angles. I don't get that opportunity when I shoot at the smaller venues in CT.  When I know there is a photo pit, I make sure to bring a wide angle lens to get a full band shot. You won't be able to back up far enough to get that with a normal lens. I'd also recommend you keep your lenses handy. I have a shoulder bag from Undfind to keep extra lenses on my person. Everclear came out for their first song and huddled around one microphone. The other photographers had to scramble out of the pit to switch lenses. All I had to do was reach into my bag. As I said before, the light was absolutely gorgeous to work with; there are some lovely backlit shots in this group of photos. Anywho, let's move on to the photos. If you want to read my full review of the show, head on over to StGA.
