fr EYE day

hello and welcome to fr EYE day!

I'm no eye doctor and I'm fairly good at researching things on the internet, but I'm at a loss for what we're seeing here. This eye belongs to a relative of mine, that used to have the same hazel eyes that I have. Over time, the pigment in the eye has faded into the blue color you're seeing. This relative does not have any eye disease, so I'm not sure if there is a medical term for the loss of pigment in the iris. There are a couple of terms for loss of pigment, but those are both when the pigment is leaking into the rest of the eye.
